Our Standards

Where Swiss Standards Meet Scientific Excellence

Quality is not a feature we bolt on. It is the foundation of how we cultivate, process, and supply every product we produce.

Controlled Environment

Every Variable Managed. Every Parameter Documented.

Our cultivation facilities maintain precise control over every environmental factor that influences mushroom quality. This is not approximate — it is engineered.

Temperature

Species-specific set points maintained within ±1°C

Humidity

Relative humidity managed per cultivation stage

CO₂ Levels

Monitored and controlled for optimal development

Air Exchange

Calculated fresh air cycles per fruiting chamber

Light Cycles

Species-appropriate photoperiod and intensity

Hygiene Standards

Contamination Prevention Is Built In

In mushroom cultivation, contamination is the primary risk that undermines consistency. Our facility design and operating procedures are built around prevention, not response.

All substrate preparation and inoculation occurs in controlled environments with pressure differentials and HEPA filtration where required. Entry protocols, surface sanitation schedules, and equipment cleaning procedures are documented and followed.

We conduct visual assessment at every stage of production. Batches that do not meet quality parameters are removed from the supply chain before they reach the customer.

Sterile Inoculation Environment

Cultures introduced under conditions designed to prevent airborne contamination.

Surface Sanitation Protocols

All surfaces in contact with product follow documented cleaning and sanitation schedules.

Visual Inspection at Every Stage

Substrate, colonising blocks, developing fruiting bodies, and harvested product are all assessed visually.

Batch Rejection Criteria

Defined criteria for removing non-compliant batches from the supply chain before customer delivery.

Consistency

Batch-to-Batch Reliability

Designed for consistent output — not seasonal variability.

Traceability

Full Chain of Custody — From Substrate to Delivery

Every batch is traceable through our production system. Clients who require documentation can request batch records that link the delivered product back to its complete production history.

01

Substrate Lot

All substrate materials are logged by supplier, lot, and date of preparation. Sterilisation records are maintained for every batch.

02

Culture Source

Cultures are maintained from documented genetic lines. Inoculation records link each cultivation block to a specific culture generation.

03

Cultivation Records

Environmental parameters are recorded throughout colonisation and fruiting. Anomalies are noted and assessed before harvest clearance.

04

Harvest Documentation

Each harvest is weighed, dated, and assigned a batch identifier. Fresh weight, moisture content, and visual quality assessment are recorded.

05

Processing Log

Drying, milling, and packaging operations are logged per batch. Equipment used, processing parameters, and operator records are maintained.

06

Delivery Record

Outbound shipments are linked to harvest and processing batch records. Clients receive batch documentation on request.

Quality Framework

Building Toward Regulated Standards

SMART MYCEL is an early-stage producer operating with a quality-first approach from day one. Our current systems are designed around documentation, process control, and traceability — the foundations of any recognised quality management standard.

We are actively developing our quality management framework toward internationally recognised food safety and ingredient supply standards. We will publish achieved certifications as they are obtained.

For clients with specific documentation or quality system requirements, we are happy to discuss our current capabilities and development roadmap.

All cultivation, processing, and dispatch steps are documented. Batch records available on request.

Active

Environmental Control Monitoring

Climate parameters logged throughout cultivation. Records retained by batch.

In Development

ISO 22000 Food Safety Management

HACCP-based food safety system under development. Target: certification within operational scale-up.

Roadmap

GMP-Ready Production Standards

Structured quality management framework planned for ingredient and pharmaceutical supply applications.
